Hello, I'm Dr. de Castro I grew up in Charlotte, NC in a house full of animals. I received my bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in 2015 and then graduated from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, where I met my husband- also a veterinarian. After practicing at a small animal clinic in Raleigh for just over a year, I moved to South Carolina in 2020 to begin a new career in shelter medicine. I worked at a municipal animal shelter in York, SC for 4 years. There, I honed my interests in soft tissue surgery, preventative care, dermatology, and community involvement. I greatly enjoyed helping thousands of homeless cats and dogs every year to find their own families and become healthy, loving pets My husband and I welcomed our first child, Clara, to our family in 2022, and just had our second child, Piper, in 2024. We've decided to call Greensboro our new home and look forward to exploring everything the city has to offer Outside of caring for cats and dogs, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and spending time at the beach whenever possible. Along with our daughters, my husband and I share our home with a rescued Scottish Terrier mix and two cats.
