Originally from Greenville Illinois, Dr. Tomaschke studied and received his BS degree in Biology and Chemistry at Greenville College. He further went on to the University of Illinois where he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Tomaschke came to Buffalo to intern when he was a veterinary student and found that he loved the area and wanted to work here. With a special interest in avian, reptile, exotic and small animal medicine, Dr. Tomaschke found his niche here at Seneca Animal Hospital since 1985.... Dr. Tomaschke is member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptile & Amphibian Veterinarians, and of course the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, the American Animal Hospital Association, and Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine. In 2002, Dr. Tomaschke received the prestigious Cecelia Evans Taylor Award for his dedication and commitment to the Buffalo Zoo. When Dr. T is not here working hard, you may find him volunteering his time at Hawk Creek Wildlife Center.... Dr. Tomaschke resides at home with his lovely wife, Jane. We also can’t forget to mention his adorable Standard Poodle, Sasha, and his precious miniature Dachshund, Piper. In addition to spending time with his family, you may also find him fishing, or skiing past you on the slopes in his spare time.
