Hailing from Depew, NY, Dr. Fijas knew at a young age that he wanted to be a veterinarian, as he worked as a kennel attendant. He proceeded to receive his BS degree in Biology from the University of Buffalo. Dr. Fijas further pursued his studies at the University of Minnesota where he was awarded his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1995. He knew that he wanted to go back home to practice veterinary medicine, and in 1998 he joined the staff of Seneca Animal Hospital.
Dr. Fijas is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, the American Animal Hospital Association, and Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He also has a strong interest in Canine and Feline Dentistry, and ACL surgeries. Dr. Fijas is noted as being the “Class Clown” by his staff, for his goofy and entertaining behavior. He is well known for being the comic relief amongst the staff, and is regarded for lifting their spirits when the day is hectic and stressful. On his serious side, Dr. Fijas enjoys teaching an Adult Sunday School class. Together with his beautiful wife Brenda (a speech therapist), they have 3 wonderful sons. Jacob is a software designer, Adam is in college studying Chemistry, and Nathan is studying to become an Electrician. Dr. Fijas also has triplet feline fur babies named Bentley, Murray, and Cooper. When he’s not at work, you can also find him at many Buffalo Bandits games. He also enjoys music, singing, reading, tennis, and of course golf.
