Dr. Avery Gottwalt grew up in High Point, North Carolina with a love of animals instilled in her from an early age, with both of her parents being veterinarians. After working at their practice during high school, she then obtained her undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science at Clemson University, where she also showed dairy cattle and did research in ruminant nutrition. She graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and practiced in both the Triangle and Triad. Her clinical interests include dermatology, preventative medicine, and geriatric care, which she is thrilled to continue as a member of Skeet Club and Total Care Veterinary Hospitals. When not at work, Dr. Gottwalt enjoys running, backpacking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Brian, dog, Maverick, and cat, Liesel.
