After working at the San Diego Humane Society and falling in love with caring for fearful dogs, Miranda enrolled in a program for veterinary technology and joined our team. At the shelter, she earned her Fear Free certification and gained valuable experience in teaching homeless pets to overcome their fears. She also earned a Bachelor's in biology from SUNY Geneseo in May of 2021. Veterinary medicine was a natural transition for Miranda, as she loves making friends with pets who are excited to meet people and winning over the trust of those who are afraid. Her favorite moments are when she can see a nervous pet relax, whether it's just a small tail wag or accepting a treat. Aside from her goal to become licensed as a vet tech, Miranda is interested in studying about surgical procedures and animal behavior. Her two lucky cats, Alfalfa (a crazy black cat) and Darla (a sassy black and white cat), are her constant source of happiness
