Dr. Lisa A. Pope grew up on Long Island, New York. She attended the State University of New York at Farmingdale, graduating with honors as a registered veterinary technician. Two years later, she signed up at the State University of New York at Stony Brook to complete her Bachelor’s degree in biology. From there, she traveled west to study veterinary medicine at the University of California in Davis. Upon graduating with her DVM degree in 1994, Dr. Pope headed south to practice in Los Angeles. Dr. Pope opened Stevenson Ranch Veterinary Center in 2000. She particularly enjoys helping senior pets and strongly believes that no animal needs to live with pain. She’s also passionate about the long-lasting bonds she forged with clients—she’s cared for some pets for their entire lives Dr. Pope and her husband raised two wonderful kids and they share their home with 3 dogs and 3 cats. They enjoy traveling and in her spare time, you can find her on the Condor Express Whale Watching boat as a volunteer with the Channel Islands Naturalist Corp [citation].
