Mary Strickland developed her passion for animals as a little girl, bringing home all the strays she could find. She graduated from Tucson High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Health Science from the University of Arizona. In 1985, she graduated from Colorado State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing with a small animal clinic in Tucson for 6 years, Dr. Strickland opened Strickland Veterinary Clinic in September 1991. During this time, in addition to her love of dogs and cats, she developed a love for ferrets. Dr. Strickland is one of the few veterinarians in Tucson that treats ferrets. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes the four-legged furry members. She also enjoys the wonderful desert scenery and climate, and the beautiful sunsets. Dr. Strickland is thankful for the wonderful clients, who have allowed her practice to grow, and for her dedicated staff. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Southern Arizona Veterinary Medicine Association [citation].
