Brooke grew up between a 350-acre farm and a 20-acre farmette. Her grandfather had Clydesdales and taught Brooke to ride and drive carts. They also had milk and beef cattle, and she spent countless hours in the barn with the animals. Meanwhile, Brooke’s mom helped her show dogs, and raise puppies, kittens, horses, and even wild animals like foxes, raccoon, deer. It came as no surprise to anyone that Brooke would ultimately grow up to work in the veterinary field. When Brooke was just four years old, she proclaimed that she wanted to be a vet and spent most of her formative years focused on vet school. After completing her high school internship here at Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic, however, Brooke discovered that she enjoyed the technician role much more and decided to switch gears. Now, she can’t imagine ever doing anything else with her life. A veterinary technician is what she was meant to be. Brooke enjoys being a surgery technician, working with animals, and assisting in surgery or attending to inventory. She also has a special love for helping ensure that senior pets have an opportunity to live their best life [citation].
