Being born and raised in Illinois, Alexa has been surrounded around animals all of her life. Growing up, she started fostering animals with her family through the Girl Scouts Bronze program and continued fostering for 14 years, helping to place 59 animals since then. With her love of animals and learning, she put her passions towards the veterinary field.
Her career started as an animal caretaker when she was 18 years old. During that time, she attended Midwest Institute of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with an Associate's Degree in 2017. She worked in a small animal veterinary clinic for a couple of years before earning her RVT license in the state of Missouri. She then went to work at an emergency center for dogs, cats, and exotic animals. Alexa plans to go back to school to specialize in clinical pathology.
Alexa moved here with her husband, who is active in the military. When she isn't working, she can be found drawing, cooking, writing books, listening to music, and doing photography. Alexa and her husband, Dakota, share their home with a Great Dane named Aya, and a Husky named Crimson, who they enjoy hiking and finding new adventures to explore with.
