Dr. Lauren Rumpke grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan with two sisters and two brothers and a backyard full of snakes, turtles, and frogs, many of which she kept as pets. During undergrad, Dr. Lauren worked as a licensed massage therapist and personal trainer where she gained interest in natural and alternative medicine therapies. After graduating, she worked in research and then at several small animal clinics before deciding to attend veterinary school.
Dr. Lauren graduated from Iowa State University in 2011. Areas of interest in veterinary medicine include small animal surgery, natural medicine, and internal medicine, specifically endocrinopathies. She enjoys running, biking, and doing anything outdoors with her husband in her free time. In May of 2015 Dr. Lauren Rumpke and her husband Dr. Barney Rumpke took over ownership of Town and Country Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Lauren and Dr. Rumpke have 3 children - Lane, Leo, and June. And they also share their home with 4 cats - Chicklett, Cheeto, Candy Corn, and Sophie [citation].
