Melissa has always had a passion for working with animals, which led her to the Animal Science program at Texas Tech University. She completed two years of undergrad studies focused on biology, but eventually life took her down a different path. After working in the veterinary industry and becoming an on-the-job trained emergency technician, her focus shifted to becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in Houston, TX with an Associate's degree of Applied Science with an emphasis on Veterinary Technology.
In 2012, after completing her internship, she relocated to Austin, TX and began her journey as an LVT. She worked in general practice for two years before moving to specialty medicine. She joined our practice in 2016 and has since been involved in various roles, including Surgery Department Supervisor and Technician Supervisor. On weekends, you will find Melissa on the lake or at the park with her three dogs, Jade, Onyx, and Louie. At home, she enjoys cuddling up to her cat Risu, reading, or watching cooking shows [citation].
