Dr. Alena Caswell grew up on a small farm in rural Sonoma County. By the time she started kindergarten, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian to help take care of animals. Dr. Caswell began her professional career working in the dairy and livestock industry of our Central Valley. Her early passion for 4H & FFA project animals continues and she looks forward to becoming more involved locally with these programs and people. Before joining her new family - Waterford Pet Hospital - she worked for a local Emergency Hospital at night while taking “day shifts” at many small animal hospitals searching for the best place to call “home”. In her free time, Dr. Caswell enjoys baking cookies and desserts, visiting with her family, and finding new animals to add to her crew. She currently has a 15-year-old rescue chihuahua, a 3-legged dachshund, and a toothless cat. She is excited to better know the community and to build long-lasting relationships with her patients and clients. Dr. Caswell is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, Northern San Joaquin Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association, and American Veterinary Medical Association [citation].
