At Abingdon Equine Veterinary Services, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your equine companions. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Stephen P. Denton, our practice has been serving the equine community in Southwest Virginia, East Tennessee, Watauga County, and surrounding areas of North Carolina for over two decades. Dr. Denton, a 1992 graduate of the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, has been in practice since 1993 and has completed extensive continuing education in equine medicine, particularly in lameness evaluation, sports medicine, and rehabilitation of sport horses.
Our team is committed to staying at the forefront of equine veterinary practice. We offer a comprehensive range of services designed to meet the unique needs of your horse. Our services include equine medicine, surgery, reproduction, dentistry, lameness, and sports medicine. We also specialize in regenerative medicine, providing treatments such as PRP, IRAP, and stem cell therapy. Additionally, we offer pre-purchase examinations to help you make informed decisions when purchasing a new horse.
We pride ourselves on using the latest technology to diagnose and treat equine conditions. Our practice is equipped with digital radiography, digital ultrasound, lameness locator, infrared thermography, and endoscopy. Dr. Jenna Moore, a member of our team, brings her expertise in oncology, dentistry, and preventative care. She is a dedicated veterinarian who is committed to providing top-notch care for your equine friends. Both Dr. Denton and Dr. Moore are active members of various equine veterinary associations, ensuring that they stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.
