About Us
The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) is a non-profit academic veterinary hospital dedicated to providing compassionate and collaborative care to animals. Founded in 1910, AMC has been at the forefront of veterinary medicine, committed to advancing the field through innovative clinical research and education.
Our mission is centered around compassionate care and the advancement of veterinary medicine. We approach every companion animal and its family with care and sensitivity, seeking to improve the lives of pets and their families through treatment, education, and the study of naturally occurring diseases. We treat all in our community with the dignity they deserve, providing the highest level of care and service to companion animals.
AMC offers a wide range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of pets. Our Primary Care Service provides routine and wellness care, including adult and senior wellness screenings, vaccinations, dental examinations, and flea and tick control. We also offer diagnosis and treatment services for various conditions such as arthritis, eye conditions, skin and ear infections, and chronic diseases. Our testing services include blood work, urinalysis, and rabies titer testing. Additionally, we provide surgical services like mass removals and spay/neuter procedures.
In emergency situations, our 24-hour Emergency Room is equipped to handle critical cases, with board-certified emergency medicine specialists and access to multiple in-house specialties. We are the only Level 1 Veterinary Trauma Center in New York City, ensuring that your pet receives the highest standard of care possible.
