Sam Cintron has been named the 2023 National Animal Care and Control Association's (NACA) Officer of the Year. Receiving this award is an incredible honor for him, deeply rooted in his passion for animal welfare. His efforts to combine his love for animals and his community have been recognized. Educating the younger generation is one of his top priorities, and he hopes to continue doing so. Winning this award has motivated him to push himself further and keep learning and growing as he helps his community. He is dedicated to not only the animals but also the community he serves, diligent about educating children about the importance of compassionate animal care, and reminding them that ACOs are helpers and not someone to be afraid of. He has been with the organization for less than a year and in that time has touched the community with his kindness, educated the community on proper wildlife care practices, and has saved countless lives [citation][2][3].
