About Us
Welcome to Brookside Animal Hospital, where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your beloved pets. Our journey began in the 1960s at the corner of 12th Street and Wall Avenue in Ogden, with the vision of two pioneering veterinarians, Drs. Isaacson and Liljenquist. They worked tirelessly to serve both large and small animals, laying the foundation for what would become a renowned institution in veterinary care.
Over the years, our practice has evolved to focus exclusively on small animals, ensuring that we can provide specialized care tailored to their unique needs. In 1967, Dr. Frank Markos joined the practice after graduating from Colorado State University. His dedication and hard work were instrumental in our growth, and he played a crucial role in establishing the first emergency referral center in Northern Utah in 2000. Dr. Markos retired in October 2018 after more than 50 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and expertise.
In 2000, Dr. Kathryn Penrod joined the practice and became the owner in 2004. Dr. Eleanor Jenson and Dr. Stacey Henderson also joined the team in 2004 and 2006, respectively. All of these veterinarians are graduates of Colorado State University, ensuring that our team is well-equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques in veterinary medicine.
In 2008, we moved to our current location on the corner of 7th Street and Wall Avenue to accommodate our rapid growth. This new facility allows us to provide even better care for our patients and clients. Our team is committed to offering the best possible care available, combining multiple years of experience to ensure that every pet receives the attention and treatment they deserve.
