At Colorado Exotic Animal Hospital, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality veterinary care for all types of exotic pets. Our mission is to ensure that your unique and beloved pets receive the specialized attention they deserve. We understand that exotic pets have distinct needs, and our team of experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians is committed to delivering exceptional care tailored to each species.
Our Services
We offer a comprehensive range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of exotic pets. Our services include:
Medical and Surgical Services: From basic to advanced veterinary care, we utilize state-of-the-art equipment such as video endoscopy, ultrasonography, high definition digital radiography, and radiosurgery. Our in-house laboratory includes video microscopy for fecal testing, cytologies, and special staining, with the ability to run tests on patients as small as parakeets. When necessary, we send samples to outside labs specializing in exotic diagnostic testing.
Daytime Emergency Services: We understand the stress and concern that comes with unexpected pet emergencies. Our team is prepared to handle urgent situations, and we request advance notice to ensure we can set up the necessary equipment for your pet's arrival.
Grooming: Our experienced staff provides specialized grooming services for exotic pets, including beak, wing, and nail trims for birds; nail trims for guinea pigs and other small mammals; and hoof trims for potbellied pigs and other small livestock.
Boarding (AZ Locations only): For those times when you need to be away from your pet, we offer short-term and long-term boarding services for most exotic pet species. However, we do not currently offer boarding services for companion livestock such as potbellied pigs and goats.
In-Hospital Pharmacy: Our hospital is equipped with a large pharmacy stocked with medications commonly prescribed for exotic pets. We strive to provide the best medications possible, individually tailoring them for your pet’s acceptance. If we do not have a specific medication your pet needs, we recommend asking the pharmacy the following questions: Does the pharmacy have a Veterinary Pharmacist on staff? How often do they fill veterinary prescriptions? Can they provide information on side effects and drug interactions? Do they use FDA-approved medications or bulk powders from other countries?
House Calls (AZ and OR Locations only): While we are currently unable to offer new house call visits, we can accommodate previous clients. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our reception.
