At Companion Animal Hospital, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of veterinary medicine to the pets and families of Austin, TX, and surrounding areas. Our mission is to create a welcoming and trusted environment where pets and their families can receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs.

Our founder, Dr. Alfredo J. Geigel-Ortiz, VMD, was raised on his grandfather’s 2,500-acre farm in Puerto Rico, where he developed a deep love for animals and agriculture. This upbringing inspired a lifelong devotion to veterinary and aquatic medicine. With an impressive educational journey spanning institutions like the University of Pennsylvania and international aquaculture programs, Dr. Geigel-Ortiz brings unparalleled knowledge and dedication to every patient.

In addition to these services, we offer Surgery, including routine spays, neuters, and dentals, as well as more specialized procedures. Spay and Neuter services are essential for enhancing the quality of your pets’ life and controlling the homeless pet population. We also provide Microchipping, which ensures your pet’s safety and retrieval should they ever become lost.

Regular Wellness Exams are critical to your pets’ well-being, allowing us to evaluate their overall health and detect potential problems before they become serious. We offer Nutritional Counseling to guide you on your pet’s nutritional needs at every life stage. Our Parasite Prevention services emphasize the importance of preventing parasites, which can have serious health consequences if not properly dealt with.

We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including Ultrasound, which uses sound waves to help us diagnose conditions without the use of harmful radiation. Our In-House Laboratory provides serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
