About Us
At Eastlake Veterinary Hospital, we are dedicated to providing exceptional medical, surgical, and diagnostic services for dogs and cats. Established in 1985 by Dr. Carl Anderson, our practice has grown over the years while maintaining its core principles of compassion and quality care. Dr. Anderson's legacy continues through Dr. Alex Shearer, who ensures that our mission remains unchanged: to develop lasting relationships by providing high-quality, compassionate care for our patients and their people.
Our emphasis is on preventative health care, recognizing that regular check-ups and preventive measures can significantly enhance the quality and longevity of our patients' lives. We recommend twice-yearly exams for dogs and cats, especially for those aged 10 years or older or those with chronic diseases. Our comprehensive services include preventative care, dentistry, microchipping, radiology, ultrasound, cardiology, and surgery.
Our dental suite is fully equipped with a Schick DR digital dental x-ray unit, allowing us to provide high-quality dental care and oral surgery. We take dental health seriously, as periodontal disease can lead to heart, liver, and kidney issues in pets. Our veterinarians and staff are committed to advising you on how to prevent and properly treat dental diseases.
In addition to our medical services, we offer a range of diagnostic tools, including a modern Fuji CR digital x-ray processor and a mobile ultrasound service. For complicated cardiology cases, we collaborate with board-certified cardiologist Dr. Jerry Woodfield. Our in-house laboratory performs various lab procedures, such as internal parasite identification, cytology, urinalysis, and blood chemistries, ensuring timely results.
We understand the importance of senior care, particularly for cats and small dogs aged 10 years or older, and large dogs aged eight years or older. Our senior care program helps detect hidden problems early, when treatment is most effective. We recommend laboratory testing at the time of annual or semi-annual exams to monitor for common diseases such as dental disease, kidney disease, heart disease, and hyperthyroidism in cats.
At Eastlake Veterinary Hospital, we strive to build trust with our clients by being personable, compassionate, and responsive. Our small, neighborhood practice has grown to three full-time veterinarians, ensuring that each pet receives personalized attention. We are committed to providing the best possible care for your beloved pets, from routine check-ups to complex medical interventions.
We are proud to be a part of the Seattle community, supporting our neighbors with exceptional veterinary care. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families, fostering a sense of community and trust. Choose Eastlake Veterinary Hospital for your pet's health and well-being, and experience the difference that compassionate care can make.
