About Us
The Fayetteville Animal Protection Society (FAPS) is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing a safe and loving environment for homeless animals in our community. Our mission is to offer a licensed, no-kill shelter where animals can find temporary care until they are adopted into a loving and caring lifetime home. We strive to reduce the population of stray animals and promote responsible pet ownership through education and community outreach.
At FAPS, we rely solely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to fund our lifesaving work. We do not receive any government funding, which underscores our commitment to community support and collaboration. Our goal is to ensure that every animal in our care receives the best possible care and attention, and we are proud to be the only licensed Cumberland County No-Kill animal shelter.
We offer a variety of services aimed at supporting both animals and the community. For those looking to adopt a new pet, we have a range of cats and dogs available for adoption, including our popular Seniors for Seniors program. We also provide resources for lost or found pets, as well as spay/neuter services to help reduce animal overpopulation.
In addition to our core services, FAPS offers opportunities for community involvement. We welcome volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare and willing to contribute their time and energy to help us care for the animals. Our volunteer program includes roles such as kennel assistants and pooch pals, who help clean kennels and provide enrichment activities for the dogs in our care. We also offer court-ordered community service opportunities, where individuals can complete their required hours while making a positive impact on the lives of animals.
