About Us
Florida Aid to Animals is a veterinary hospital dedicated to providing quality, preventive veterinary care at an affordable price to all pet parents. Founded in 1989 by Isabelle Dorsey, our mission is to help the local community with their pet health needs and to advocate for the importance of spaying and neutering pets. This initiative not only benefits the community but also ensures that pets live longer, healthier lives.
After years of volunteering and working with local shelters, Isabelle was deeply troubled by the number of cats and dogs being euthanized due to overcrowding. She knew she had to do something to help control the population and provide essential veterinary services at an affordable cost. Our clinic specializes in low-cost spay/neuter procedures, as well as other basic but necessary procedures and preventative medicines.
Over the years, we have grown to meet the evolving needs of our community. Today, we operate two local clinics on the beautiful east coast of Central Florida, offering a wide range of services including vaccinations, heartworm tests, heartworm, flea, and tick prevention, lab work, dental cleanings, and minor medical treatments. Our goal is to keep basic pet health care affordable while educating the public about the importance of preventative care.
We are committed to making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Our Financial Aid Program helps low-income families better afford basic pet healthcare, ensuring that no pet is left behind due to financial constraints. We strive to maintain affordability without compromising the quality of care, aiming to help pets live longer, healthier lives and reduce the number of cats and dogs euthanized in shelters.
At Florida Aid to Animals, we pride ourselves on our compassionate and professional approach to veterinary care. Our team of veterinary professionals and dedicated staff work together to provide a safe and welcoming environment for both you and your pet. We believe in the importance of proper nutrition and offer guidance on the best diets for your dog, regardless of their age or activity level.
Our vision is to create and maintain affordability of these services so that all pets can receive basic veterinary care. We promise to help your pets live healthier lives and contribute to a community where every pet has access to essential healthcare. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of our furry friends.
