About Us
At Mercy Animal Clinic, we believe that your pet is more than just an animal – they are a beloved member of your family. That's why we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care and compassion to ensure your pet's health and well-being. Located in the heart of Garland, Texas, we serve the George Bush Corridor, offering excellent pet care services to Plano, Richardson, Garland, Murphy, and Sachse.
Our clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Rick Hamlin, a seasoned veterinarian with extensive experience in the Richardson/Garland/Murphy area. Dr. Hamlin graduated from Texas A&M University Veterinary School in 1986 and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over three decades. His commitment to providing top-notch care led him to build Kindness Small Animal Hospital in 1992, which he later sold in 2005. In 2012, he and his brother built Mercy Animal Clinic, opening its doors in 2013.
At Mercy Animal Clinic, we pride ourselves on our individual approach to pet care. No two pets are alike, and we focus on understanding and addressing the unique needs of each animal. Our team of experts is trained in the most up-to-date techniques and procedures to ensure the best possible care for your pet. We have invested in modern equipment to deliver the best results, and our friendly staff is always ready to welcome you and your pets with open arms.
We offer a wide range of services designed to keep your pet healthy and happy. These include dental services, heartworm prevention and testing, senior canine wellness programs, parasite control, nutritional counseling, weight management counseling, and much more. Our full in-house laboratory and digital radiology (X-ray) capabilities allow us to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions quickly and effectively. We also provide urgent care services for emergencies such as vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, ear infections, and wound care.
In addition to our medical services, we offer pet day boarding and pet bathing services to ensure your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you're away. Our on-site pharmacy provides convenient access to the medications your pet needs, and our specialty surgeries include procedures like TPLO, Luxating Patella, and bladder stone surgery.
At Mercy Animal Clinic, we are committed to building a practice that not only cares for your pets but also supports the local community. We work closely with 501(c)(3) rescue groups and offer discounted services to help these organizations continue their vital work. Our goal is to be your one-stop solution for all your pet's needs, providing the best possible care with compassion and dedication.
We look forward to meeting you and your pets and serving all of your needs. Our clinic cats and dogs, Larry, Carl, Roger, Geep, and Amanda, are eager to help take care of you and your pets as well
