About Us
The Mount Juliet Animal Shelter Volunteer Organization has been serving the community since 2010. Our mission is to support the local Animal Control by providing volunteer efforts and financial support when the city-run shelter is unable to fully fund services or activities needed for the animals.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals within the city limits of Mount Juliet. Our primary focus is on taking in stray, abandoned, injured, and homeless dogs. While we do not take in cats unless they are injured or unable to care for themselves, such as un-weaned and motherless kittens, we are committed to ensuring the well-being of all animals in our care.
Our team is comprised of dedicated volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. We strive to place each animal in our care into the best home possible by utilizing rescue groups whenever possible. This approach helps us keep our numbers low and ensures that the animals find wonderful homes.
We are proud to be a 501(c)(3) status organization, which allows us to receive donations and support from the community. Our operations are run by a small board of directors consisting of local business owners and city officials, ensuring that all operations are run smoothly and as efficiently as possible.
At the Mount Juliet Animal Shelter Volunteer Organization, we are committed to protecting the animals and citizens of our community through continued animal care and control practices. We believe in the importance of responsible pet ownership and encourage all pet owners to provide their pets with access to food, water, adequate shelter, and vet care at all times. This is not only a state law but also a city ordinance that we strongly uphold.
