About Us
Welcome to the Savannah Wildlife Rescue Center, a 501(C)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating Georgia native wildlife. Our mission is to improve the welfare of wildlife through education and provide a safe, clean, and peaceful environment for animals to heal and grow.
Since our inception, we have been committed to rescuing orphaned and injured wildlife, providing them with the necessary medical care, vaccinations, and parasite control. Our goal is to rehabilitate these animals to the point where they can be safely released back into their natural habitats. We believe in the importance of coexisting with wildlife and strive to educate the community on how to protect our delicate ecosystem.
Over the past decade, we have grown significantly, moving from a small 400-square-foot facility to a 1,500-square-foot clinic. We have also expanded our services to include an outdoor 10,000-square-foot deer enclosure and a 600-acre sanctuary for release. Despite this growth, we continue to face the challenge of meeting the increasing needs of our community, and we are now planning to build a purpose-built rescue center designed to handle the specialized needs of the many orphaned baby mammals we care for each year.
Our team, led by Executive Director Jeanne Paddison, has decades of experience in caring for animals in need. We are proud to have a committed corps of volunteers and interns who help us in our mission. These dedicated individuals provide a wide range of skills and support, ensuring that our facility remains clean, safe, and peaceful for the animals.
We are particularly proud of our educational outreach programs, which feature animals like Polly the opossum and Dumpling the skunk. These ambassadors, who were once injured and now thrive in our care, help us teach the importance of coexisting with wildlife and the unique roles they play in maintaining nature’s balance.
At the Savannah Wildlife Rescue Center, we are committed to releasing healthy, productive animals that know how to do their jobs. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance, and we work tirelessly to ensure that they receive the care and rehabilitation they need to thrive. Join us in our mission to protect and preserve our wildlife, and together, let’s make a difference in the lives of these incredible creatures.
