About Us
The Alaska SPCA has been dedicated to promoting animal welfare since 1955. Our mission is to provide essential services that promote good animal health and reduce or eliminate suffering for dogs, cats, and rabbits across the state. We are a non-profit organization committed to making animal care accessible to everyone, particularly in rural communities that lack access to veterinary care.
Our primary focus is on spay and neuter procedures, which are integral to our mission of controlling pet overpopulation and preventing medical and behavioral problems. We also offer a range of other services, including vaccinations, pet exams, dental care, and microchipping. Our veterinary professionals are dedicated to ensuring that each pet receives the best possible care, whether it's through routine medical procedures or specialized treatments.
In addition to our clinical services, we operate an adoption center where we work tirelessly to rescue, treat, and rehome animals. All adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and receive an intake wellness exam, deworming, diagnostic testing, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a dental health check. Our goal is to ensure that every pet finds a loving home and lives its best life.
We believe in community involvement and offer a PAL Membership program that allows individuals to become actively involved in the animal rescue community. Our membership tiers offer various perks, from exclusive updates and stickers to social media advertising and personalized thank-you notes. By joining our PAL program, you become part of a greater movement that promotes animal welfare and supports our mission.
