Founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds, we have grown from a rescue organization to a comprehensive animal well-being organization. Our mission is to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while helping them build a bond with humans.
We believe that relationships are the foundation of a harmonious world. For over 15 years, we have been fostering these connections, recognizing that the bonds we form with each other and with animals have the power to transform lives. We offer a range of services designed to support both animals and their human caregivers. Our Community Animal Visits program provides pet visits to Minnesota assisted living communities and other facilities, bringing joy and companionship to residents. Our Respite Foster Care Program offers temporary, quality pet care for owners who might otherwise surrender their animals or stay away from them due to circumstances.
Our Veterinary Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the medical management of our rescue animals. We provide comprehensive medical examinations, diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, and perform surgical procedures using best practices. Our team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians work closely with fosters, colleagues, and support staff to coordinate patient care and ensure that rescue medical protocols are up to date.
