About Us
At Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, we are dedicated to providing a safe and compassionate environment for the thousands of animals that come through our doors each year. Located at 3031 N Erie Avenue, we care for over 11,000 animals annually, including homeless cats and dogs, as well as sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals. Our mission is to ensure that every animal receives the care and attention they need until they can find a loving, permanent home.
We offer a wide range of services designed to support both the animals in our care and the community. Our services include animal enforcement and control, investigation of animal cruelty, humane education, and adoption counseling. We also provide medical care for the animals, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment before they are available for adoption or transfer to partner agencies.
One of the key ways we make a difference is through our volunteer program. Dedicated and compassionate volunteers play a crucial role in providing direct care to the animals, assisting with education, administrative projects, and outreach events. By volunteering with us, you can experience the rewarding feeling of saving lives and making a significant impact on the lives of homeless animals.
In addition to our volunteer program, we also offer fostering opportunities. Fosters provide temporary homes for animals that need a little more time before they are available for adoption. This crucial service helps save the lives of animals by giving them the time and care they need until they can find a permanent home.
