About Us
At Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, sick, abandoned, and forgotten animals facing euthanasia. Founded in May 2013 by Terri Crotty-Newberry, our organization has grown to become a leading animal rescue in the region, dedicated to providing a loving and secure transition for the animals in our care.
We are a licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, committed to rescuing animals from lives of hardship and giving them a second chance at a happy, healthy life. Our rescue center in Plainfield, Illinois, is equipped to house up to 35-40 animals at a time, allowing us to take in the most medically needy or dogs that do not thrive in kennelled environments. Since our inception, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 500 animals annually, with a focus on the hardest cases, including the sick, old, and those in need of extensive medical care.
Our team is comprised of dedicated volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to ensure the well-being of every animal in our care. From fostering and medical care to adoption and community outreach, we strive to provide a comprehensive support system for both the animals and their future families. We believe in educating the public on responsible pet ownership, spay/neutering, and regular veterinary visits to prevent future animal suffering.
