About Us
At Walking Paws Rehab, we are dedicated to providing exceptional pet rehabilitation services in Boulder, Colorado. Our mission is to give your pet the level of care they deserve by integrating innovative, animal physical therapy techniques and pain management into a customized pet rehab program. We strive to advance the way we care for pets through medicine, animal rehabilitation, and pain management.
Our team of specialists, including veterinarians, physical therapists, veterinary physiotherapists, and massage therapists, work closely together to create unique solutions for your loved one. We bring together experts from various backgrounds, including physical therapists with knowledge from human medicine and veterinarians who can diagnose, prescribe medications or supplements, and treat diseases. This collaborative approach ensures that your pet receives the best possible care.
We specialize in diagnosing and treating orthopedic, neurologic, and soft tissue injuries. Our services include musculoskeletal ultrasounds performed by a board-certified radiologist to diagnose tendon, muscular, or ligament injuries. We also offer blood work to confirm it’s safe for your pet to receive pain medications and to identify the cause of their mobility issues. Follow-up blood work ensures that your pet's organs are processing the medication properly and responding well to treatment.
Our advanced therapies include laser therapy, which reduces pain, decreases inflammation, restores mobility, and promotes nerve growth. We also use PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy, which is FDA-approved for post-operative pain and swelling. Additionally, we utilize vibration plates to stimulate nerves, enhance proprioception, improve balance, and stimulate muscles to contract. Ultrasound therapy reduces swelling and decreases soreness by improving blood flow and speeding up the healing process.
We offer a variety of services tailored to your pet's specific needs. These include shockwave therapy to break up mineralization in tendons or bring in blood flow, underwater treadmills to promote strength building without loading an injured limb or sore joint, and home exercise programs consisting of videos to help you assist your pet at home. We are skilled at finding trigger points in muscles, determining which muscles are tight, and how to safely stretch each muscle. We also teach you how to perform stretches and massage on your pet.
At Walking Paws Rehab, we pride ourselves on a team approach among all caregivers, including you, in deciding what's best for your pet. Our goal is to help you reach your goal for your pet's recovery. We excel in bandage changes and wound care, using medications, laser therapy, ultrasound therapy, special dressings, and regular bandage changes to achieve excellent results. We also provide wheelchair fittings and assist with the design process for custom braces.
Our commitment to compassionate care and innovative treatments sets us apart. We believe in enriching the lives of pets by helping them take the steps to move forward again. With a team of experts dedicated to your pet's recovery, you can trust that your furry friend will receive the best possible care at Walking Paws Rehab.
